This page explains how to delete your account in What Is This?,
the drawing and guessing game by Ammerbrothers (Dipl.-Ing. David Ammer), and what happens to your
data.
In the app
Open What Is This?, tap Together, then Online.
Tap Profile.
Tap Delete account.
Type your display name to confirm, and tap Delete My Account.
If you signed in a while ago, the app may ask you to sign out and sign in again
first. The deletion happens at once and cannot be undone.
Without the app
Write to support@ammerbrothers.at from the email address of your account, with the subject “Delete
my account”. We may reply to that address to confirm the request is yours. We delete
the account without undue delay, and within one month at the latest. If you can no
longer use that email address, please delete the account in the app; if you cannot, write to us with your display name, and
we will ask you for details that show the account is yours.
What is deleted
Your email address, display name, password hash and sign-in ids.
Your chat messages, friends and blocks, the guesses and ratings you gave, and
the record of which Hall of Fame drawings you opened.
Your drawings leave the Hall of Fame and are no longer shown to anyone. Their
images are deleted from the game's storage on our server at once; the backup
copies on our archive servers follow in daily batches. Their training copies
stay (see below).
Reports about you as a player, and reports you made in the app. Your lines in
chats kept with other players' reports are blanked.
What is kept, and for how long
Stroke data (the lines of your online drawings and the word or
title they show) and the training copies of your drawings that
went into the training set (picture, lines and word), both without your name or
email address, for training the drawing recognition. For up to one year our
security records can still connect them to your former account; within that
year you can ask us to delete them as well.
Security records (IP address, account id, a hash of your email
address, and what happened): up to one year.
Purchase records, without the link to your account: seven
years, as Austrian tax law requires.
Reports about one of your drawings stay with that drawing.
Moderation emails we sent you: at most 12 months after sending.
Feedback you sent from the app stays without your name.
Anonymous statistics (totals such as how many games were
played): nothing in them is about you.
Deleting your account does not cancel a VIP subscription. The store
keeps billing you until you cancel it: on Android in the subscriptions of your Google
Play account, on iPhone in the subscriptions of your Apple account (App Store).
If you bought VIP within the last 14 days, you can still withdraw from it, also after
deleting your account: in the app under Settings › Legal & withdrawal › Withdraw from
contract, which works without signing in (more in the
Terms of Use).
