Offline stays on your device, except local classic games while you are signed in. Play Online and games with friends send your drawings to other players, and copies without your name help improve the AI.

We do not collect your contacts. Offline play stores nothing on our servers, except the training copies of local classic drawings while you are signed in.
The game guesses what you have drawn. It learns from real drawings, so copies of drawings from Play Online, from classic games with friends and from local classic games played while you are signed in are used to teach it new words and to recognise existing ones better. A copy holds the lines you drew, the picture and the word you were asked to draw, never your name or email address. The AI learns from these copies, which we keep in a training set of their own; the lines stored with a Play Online drawing are there so the game can replay it. To stop this for your device, turn off “Help train the AI” in Settings.
You can object to this at any time (Art. 21 GDPR): write to support@ammerbrothers.at from the email address of your account, or tell us your display name. From then on we make no new copies of your drawings and leave them out of every new training. A model that has already been trained cannot forget single drawings; it stays as it is until the next one replaces it.
Records that you saw a drawing. A report only counts towards an automatic step if the person who made it was actually shown what they reported (the Terms of Use explain the rules). To check that, we look at whether they guessed or rated the drawing or played in the room it was drawn in, and whether they opened it in the Hall of Fame. For that last check we store which Hall of Fame drawings your account opened, and when you first opened each. We use these records only for this check. They are kept until you delete your account or the drawing is deleted. Each report keeps a yes/no note of whether the check passed.
Automatic steps. Some measures are applied automatically, by fixed rules, when several different players report you: a drawing is hidden after 3 reports (5 if none of the reporters guessed it, rated it or saw it in a room), you are muted for 30 days after reports from 3 different players within 30 days, and online play is suspended once 3 of your drawings were hidden after reports within 30 days. Only reports that meet the rules in the Terms of Use count. Bans are always decided by a person. We process reports and report counts based on our legitimate interest in a safe game (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and to meet our obligations under the Digital Services Act (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). Where such a measure is a decision based solely on automated processing with legal or similarly significant effect for you, in particular a suspension, it is necessary to perform our contract with you (Art. 22(2)(a) GDPR): the rules must be enforced at any hour, and we cannot have a moderator online at all times. You can always have a person review the measure, give your view and contest it (Art. 22(3) GDPR) by replying to our email, writing to support@ammerbrothers.at, or using Send feedback in the app. A person reviews every automatic suspension, usually within 7 days, and can lift it.
Word filter. Chat messages, the titles of drawings in the Hall of Fame and in Free Draw, guesses shown to other players, and display names are checked automatically against a list of offensive words. A word on the list is shown to other players as ***, and a display name with one is refused. When you play Classic in a room with friends with your own word list, each of its words is checked against the same list of offensive words; a word found there is left out.
Moderation emails. If we hide or remove one of your drawings, or suspend or ban your account, or lift one of these steps, we email you a statement of reasons at your account's email address: what was decided, which rule of the Terms of Use it rests on, how many reports there were, and whether the decision was automatic. Decisions within one hour are sent together in one email. The email does not name who reported you. We keep a copy of each email for 12 months after sending, as the record of what we told you.
Mutes. A mute is not emailed. When you try to send something to other players while your account is muted, the app shows you that you are muted, since when, until when and why, whether it happened automatically, and how to object. An automatic mute ends by itself after 30 days. We keep the record of a mute for 12 months as well.
Anyone can tell us by email to support@ammerbrothers.at about content they believe is illegal. We keep the notice: your email address, your name if you give it, which content it is about, why you think it is illegal and your confirmation that you make it in good faith; and then our decision. We use them to review the content, to confirm that your notice arrived and to tell you our decision (Art. 16 DSA). We do not pass your name or email address on to the person whose content you reported, unless the law requires it. A notice is deleted 12 months after we close it.
The app shows ads through the Google Mobile Ads SDK, on both Android and iPhone. Every ad request is marked as child-directed and made under age of consent: there is no personalised advertising and no tracking of you across other apps or websites. On iPhone this also means no App Tracking Transparency prompt, and no advertising identifier (IDFA) is read.
To choose and show an ad, and to guard against ad fraud, Google's SDK still processes a device identifier where the platform makes one available, an approximate location estimated from your IP address, which ads you were shown and tapped, and diagnostic and performance data about the app. That processing happens on Google's side, under Google's own policy: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
You can sign in with your Google or Apple account. Then Google or Apple gives us your account id with them, your email address, and your first name, which we use only to suggest a display name. With Apple the address can be a forwarding address that Apple creates for you.
VIP and the items in the shop are bought and paid for through Google Play or the App Store; we never see your payment details. To unlock a purchase on your account the store tells us, and we keep: which product it was, the store's transaction and order numbers, until when a subscription runs and whether it renews, and which game account the purchase currently counts for. If you use Restore purchases on another game account, the purchase moves to that account. These are accounting records, so they are kept when you delete your account, without the link to it. Whether you are VIP is visible to other players as a crown and a golden name. When you host a party, local or online, the other players also see that the party is ad-free thanks to you: the lobby shows your name.
Hetzner and World4You process the data only on our instructions (Art. 28 GDPR). Backup copies of drawing images are kept on our own archive servers. We do not sell your data.
Outside the EU: Google and Apple can process data in the USA. Both are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has recognised as giving adequate protection (Art. 45 GDPR). Hetzner and World4You keep your data in the EU.
Deleting your account removes your email address, display name, password hash, sign-in ids, chat messages, friends, blocks, the guesses and ratings you gave, and the record of which Hall of Fame drawings you opened; removes your drawings from the Hall of Fame; and blanks your lines in chat kept with other players' reports. The images of your online drawings are deleted from the game's storage on our server at once; the backup copies on our archive servers follow in daily batches. Their training copies stay, as described below. Reports about you as a player are deleted with your account; reports about one of your drawings stay with that drawing. The anonymous statistics stay: nothing in them is about you. How to delete your account, also without the app: Delete your account.
Stroke data is kept for AI training, without your name or email address: the lines of your online drawings and the word or title they show, and the training copies of your drawings that went into the training set (the picture, the lines and the word; see “Why we use drawings for AI training”). For up to one year our security records can still connect them to your former account; after that nothing links them to you any more. We keep the lines because training copies for the AI are made from them, and the recognition every player relies on learns from those copies (our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
You can have your stroke data erased as well. This covers the training copies of your drawings too. Ask us before you delete your account, or within one year after it, and we will delete it: write to support@ammerbrothers.at from the email address of your account. Before you delete your account you can also ask with Send feedback in the app while you are signed in, or tell us your display name; if your account has no email address, please ask before you delete it. After a year nothing connects the stroke data to you any more, so we can no longer find it (Art. 11 GDPR). A model that has already been trained cannot forget single drawings; it stays as it is until the next one replaces it.
You can ask us what data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR) and have it corrected (Art. 16), deleted (Art. 17), restricted (Art. 18) or handed to you in a common format (Art. 20). You can object to any use that rests on our legitimate interest, such as AI training (Art. 21), and withdraw a consent at any time for the future (Art. 7(3)). You delete your account yourself on the Profile screen; for everything else, write to support@ammerbrothers.at. We answer within one month.
If you think we handle your data unlawfully, you can complain to a data protection authority. In Austria that is the Datenschutzbehörde, www.dsb.gv.at.
Accounts are for players aged 16 or older. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we will remove it.
We may change this policy, for example when the game gets new features or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, the app tells you once before it applies.
